About Raised Floor Solutions

Raised Floor Solutions is a specialist composite flooring contractor established in 2003 in Skelmersdale in Lancashire. The company became Employee Owned in 2019 and is a proud member of the EOT (Employee Ownership Trust).

RFS is the UK’s largest approved supplier and installer of Kingspan Multideck Steel Decking products and is a Tier 1 installer of Tate Access Floors.

Five specialist trading divisions – Metaldeck Steel Decking contractors, Metpark Car Park Design and Build, Metcon Concrete Flooring Contractors, Metalroof Contractors and Access Flooring – provide clients all over the UK with a total packaged solution to the design and construction of composite concrete floor systems, metal roof systems, new build car park schemes and raised access flooring installations.

All site operatives are directly employed, trained and fully accredited to the current industry requirements.

Raised Floor Solutions offers a full in-house design service to achieve the most economic and specification compliant flooring solution. Designs are underpinned by the latest Kingspan technical software and product guarantees. RFS can provide collateral warranties backed with up to £5 million professional indemnity insurance.

Partnerships with Steel Contractors and Main Contractors

Raised Floor Solutions works in partnership with Clients, which include main contractors and steel contractors, to realise end user requirements. The RFS technical team can advise on the most viable solutions and can supply CAD drawings and collaborate on BIM (Building Information Modelling) to an ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard.

Meet the Team

Andy Wharton, Construction Director

Andy joined the Metaldeck team on its inception and has progressed through the ranks to Construction Director. He leads a team of construction managers and is responsible for project planning and the day-to-day management of all construction activities.

Sharon Hollins,
Head of Commercial

Sharon is the central to all Raised Floor Solutions business activities. She has been with the company since the beginning and prepares all management account information and contractual correspondence as well as any applications, invoices, final account settlements and quantity surveying functions.

David Chester, Associate Technical Director

David has been with the business since the beginning, joining the team in the drawing office and progressing to Design & Technical Manager. In his latest role he now leads all in house design and technical activities utilising his extensive experience in steel deck and composite concrete construction to guide project specification and design.

Joanna Bowe, Group Accountant

Joanna joined Raised Floor Solutions in 2022 as our in-house Management Accountant. She brings a wealth of experience to the senior management team through her maintenance and analysis of the Companies key financial information and systems.

Graham Hewitt, Managing
Director

Graham established Raised Floor Solutions in 2003. He is responsible for the financial stewardship and strategic development of the business, as well as maintaining its strong working partnership with Kingspan.

Rebecca Palma, Sales & Estimating Manager, Access Flooring

Rebecca joined Raised Floor Solutions in 2008 as an estimator and now runs the access flooring sales and estimating team. She is responsible for the completion of tenders and final tender negotiations.

Richard Rowles,
Drawing Office & BIM Manager

Richard joined Metaldeck as a trainee draughtsman in 2006 using AutoCAD to produce deck design and layout drawings. He is now the Drawing Office & BIM Manager and leads the drawing team to produce detailed projects drawings using Autodesk Revit 3D which can then be integrated into state-of-the-art BIM models.

Sarah Ormsby, Associate Operations Director, Metaldeck & Metcon

As part of the management team since 2006 Sarah has progressed through the business to Associate Operations Director overseeing all contracting divisions . As well as her responsibility for the day to day organisation of decking, concrete and access floor projects Sarah maintains the Companies ISO Quality standards and accreditations ensuring our continuing compliance with current standards.

Kevin Levens Sales & Estimating Manager, Metaldeck and Concrete

Kevin joined Metaldeck in 2004 as a steel decking Estimator progressing to Sales & Estimating Manager in 2015. With years of knowledge and experience of composite steel deck and concrete floor systems Kevin and his team of Estimators provide our clients with competitive tender prices which in most cases offer value engineered solutions.

Anthony Richardson,
Non-Exec Director & Chief Financial Officer

Anthony has provided strategic advice to RFS for many years. He is a non-executive director and part-time chief financial officer and is responsible for managing the company finances, including financial planning, management of financial risks and financial reporting. He is also a director of the Trustee company.

Richard Smith,
Senior Contracts Manager

Richard joined the business in 2009, starting out in the drawing office before moving over to assist with the site teams and progressing to senior contracts manager. Richard is responsible for the day to day organisation of decking and concrete projects throughout the country, with a focus on the South of England. Richard often represents the company at pre contract and pre start meetings and attends site team meetings once the projects are progressing.

Metpark specialises in the design and installation of composite steel floor decking for use in multi-storey car parks

Concrete Floors

Metcon Concrete Floors designs, supplies and installs concrete flooring on all types of steel decking floor systems

Access Floors

Access Flooring designs, supplies and installs raised access floor systems and is an approved Tier 1 Kingspan Contractor

Design

Raised Floor Solutions offers a full in-house design service. Early project involvement allows the company to value engineer the steel deck, concrete floor slab and access flooring elements to establish the most efficient design solution.

All design work is assured by the latest Kingspan design software and professional indemnity insurance.

RFS provides clients with a full in-house design service, backed by Professional Indemnity Insurance.
