Raised Floor Solutions is starting on site at Salford Crescent delivering a composite concrete floor system for a significant new 10-15 storey residential scheme.
Cheltenham Place, on Cheltenham Street, is under construction for X1 and Raised Floor Solutions is working for the main contractor on the scheme, Bridgestone Construction, a valued repeat client.
The development comprises 353 studio apartments designed by Leach Rhodes Walker architects. The scheme is aimed at students, via the investor market, and features a central courtyard, rooftop garden plus laundry facilities and secure bike storage.
Cheltenham Place is within walking distance of the University of Salford and close to Media City UK. Another X1 student scheme, The Campus, is across the road.
The contract will be delivered by two divisions within Raised Floor Solutions providing design of the composite floor system, alongside the supply and installation of the steel deck and reinforced concrete floor elements.
The solution will be designed using the latest Kingspan software providing a Kingspan backed warranty in addition to the £5m professional indemnity insurance offered by Raised Floor Solutions.
Metal Deck, steel decking experts, will supply and install 11,300m2 of Kingspan highly structural efficient trapezoidal deck profile, Multideck MD60. The choice of MD60 for the scheme reduces the concrete required to complete the composite floor system by up to 20%.
Reinforced concrete floor division, Metcon, will follow up on site casting 140mm concrete floor slabs on the steel deck, which will be reinforced with Kingspan approved Dramix steel fibres with an easyfloat finish.
RFS is scheduled to complete on site in September 2023.
