COMPOSITE CONCRETE FLOORS FOR NEW GP SURGERY

Raised Floor Solutions will design and install composite concrete flooring for the construction of a new GP surgery in Whittle-le-Woods after being awarded the job by the main contractor.

Work commenced on the design and build of the new practice in September 2020. The new facility replaces an existing building which was struggling to accommodate in excess of 10,000 patients following a number of new housing developments being constructed in the local area.

The new practice is considerably larger with accommodation spread over two floors ensuring the facility can accommodate existing and future patients. The lower ground floor will be utilised as offices, a meeting/library room, staff room and toilets/changing facilities as well as a store.

Consulting and treatment rooms as well as a reception and waiting area will be housed on the ground floor.

Raised Floor Solutions will deliver the contract through its specialist steel decking and concrete flooring divisions who will work seamlessly to deliver a packaged flooring solution to the client.

Metaldeck will supply and install 369m2 of Kingspan Multideck MD60 steel decking.

Metcon will then cast a 130mm in-situ concrete floor slab on the metal decking with A193 mesh reinforcement.
