Raised Floor Solutions has secured the composite flooring contract for one of the north west’s biggest private rental schemes, Dock 5 in Salford.
The £48m residential project will deliver 394 new homes for sale, shared ownership and private rent on a 2.8 acre site formerly occupied by warehouses on Ordsall Lane and Fairbrother Street, and adjacent to the Manchester Ship Canal.
The development will offer a choice of studio flats, one-bed, two-bed and three-bedroom apartments as well as townhouses and 3,272 sq ft of commercial space aimed at shops, bars, restaurants and offices.
The scheme has been designed by architects Falconer Chester Hall for client ForHousing, the residential arm of ForViva, and completion is scheduled for 2023.
The composite flooring contract will be delivered by two divisions within Raised Floor Solutions working together. Steel decking division, Metaldeck will supply and install 36,500m2 of Kingspan Multideck MD60 and MD50 spanning three apartment blocks and a podium.
Sister concrete flooring division, Metcon, will design and install 140mm concrete floor slabs over the same area reinforced with Dramix steel fibres.
Work on the composite flooring commenced in June 2020.
