The contract to supply and install 31,000m2 of steel decking and concrete flooring for the construction of six buildings housing 363 apartments in Manchester has been awarded to Raised Floor Solutions.
Located on Chester Road in the Cornbrook area of the city, the landmark £75M build-to-rent scheme, for developer Brickland, was designed by acclaimed Manchester based practice Tim Groom Architects and includes two towers of 19 and 16 storeys. Within the scheme is co-working space, a library, gym, residents’ lounge and two rooftop gardens.
Both towers will incorporate a slip form concrete core with structural steel framing and a traditional grey brick façade. The design also includes undercroft car parking and raised courtyards.
Raised Floor Solutions’ Metaldeck steel decking division will supply and install 31,000m2 of Kingspan Multideck MD60 steel decking before handing over to Metcon Concrete Floors to design and install a 140mm thick concrete slab.
Raised Floor Solutions has commenced work on Block E. Full scheme completion is expected in Autumn 2020.Posted by Jackie Posted on 28 May
