DECK & CONCRETE CONTRACT FOR BRIGHOUSE EXTRA CARE HOMES

The steel decking and concrete flooring contract for an £11.3 million new development of affordable apartments aimed at the over-55s and those with dementia has been secured by Raised Floor Solutions.

The development is a collaboration between Home Group, Calderdale Council, architects Brewster Bye and energy and regeneration specialist ENGIE.

Sixty-five apartments are under construction across a split-level seven-storey building.  These will be supported by a hair salon, coffee, shop and winter garden. Some of the apartments will include facilities designed for those with dementia.

The contract will be delivered by Raised Floor Solutions’ specialist steel decking division, Metaldeck. The team will supply and install 7,500 m2 of Kingspan Multideck MD60 across six levels. Sister division, Metcon Concrete Floors, will then design, supply and install a 175mm concrete floor on the steel deck, reinforced with A193/A393 mesh with an easy float finish.

The development is scheduled for occupation in Spring 2020.
