Work on a new multi-storey-car-park (MSCP) at Rochdale’s new 200,000 sq ft retail and leisure development, Rochdale Riverside, is complete.
New aerial drone photographs show the scale of the 520-space facility, for which Raised Floor Solutions’ specialist car park division designed and installed 8,000 sq ft of composite concrete flooring.
Rochdale Riverside is one of the town’s most significant regeneration projects and was delivered in partnership with Rochdale Town Council. The complex houses a new six-screen cinema alongside retail shopping outlets including Marks & Spencer, which is adjacent to the new parking facility.
Due to its waterside location and the aggressive engine emissions commonly found in multi-storey car parks, Metpark, RFS’s specialist car park construction division supplied and installed Kingspan Multideck MD80 XP, a composite car park deck with a special Magnelis coating.
MSCP Construction Using Kingspan with Magnelis
Kingspan XP is a composite car park deck manufactured in Magnelis, a unique metallic steel coating comprising zinc and magnesium.
Steel decking with Magnelis is specified for the most aggressive C4 and C5 environments. It can provide up to ten times more protection than standard galvanising, prolonging life span.
The Metpark team also designed and installed a 150mm/190mm composite concrete floor slab reinforced with A252 traditional mesh.
The work was undertaken for main contractor Willmott Dixon.
