Raised Floor Solutions’ specialist steel decking division, Metaldeck, is now able to supply and install Kingspan Multideck, the UK’s most frequently specified metal floor deck profiles, with engineered ends adding even greater speed and efficiency to its composite concrete flooring service.
After being cut to length and delivered to site, a steel decking sheet is fixed to a structural steel frame using shot fired fixings. Traditionally, a galvanised end cap is installed to close off the end of each metal deck profile. However, by folding and pressing the end of the Kingspan metal deck profile during the manufacturing process to form a slope, these additional components are eliminated, creating time and cost efficiencies in the build programme.
Specifying metal deck with engineered ends also allows a greater volume of concrete to come into contact with the steel beams and around shear studs, therefore improving the overall composite action and performance of the steel frame and is essential where full depth concrete is required.
Engineered end profiles also reduce the amount of grout loss during the casting of the composite concrete floor slab reducing staining on the steel frame and paint coatings
Raised Floor Solutions is able to offer Customers engineered ends on Kingspan’s Multideck MD60 and MD80, its two most widely specified metal floor deck products using either a standard galvanised finish or Kingspan XP Magnelis enhanced coating.
Raised Floor Solutions is the UK’s leading approved supplier and installer of Kingspan Multideck steel decking.
